Shopping street Uzun Çarşı

Uzun Çarşı Avenue is the main shopping street of the Eminönü district, on it and in the adjacent alleys there are many shopping facilities, from small shops to large supermarkets. The street connects the Merkan quarter, located to the north of the Grand Bazaar with the transport hub at Galata Bridge. The vast majority of stores sell clothes, but there are shops for bags and suitcases, as well as home accessories. Both retail and wholesale trade are equally brisk here, and prices for exactly the same goods in neighboring stores may differ at times. Previously, sewing products were produced in workshops located in the houses of the quarter, they were distinguished by good quality and a variety of design, but now they have been fairly squeezed by cheap Chinese consumer goods. There are several mosques on the street: Bezazı Cedid Cami, Yavaşça Şahin Mehmet Ali Paşa Camii, in the northern part of the street there are the Rustem Pasha Baths (Rüstem Paşa Hamamı) and the Rustem Pasha Mosque (Rüstem Paşa Camii).
